CPD System
Learning connected to the work people actually do.
A continuing professional development platform that connects client needs with advisor skill gaps and relevant learning.
Hackathon project

01The context
The problem
worth solving.
A course catalogue can tell advisors what is available, but it does not explain what they need to learn for the clients in front of them. Administrators also need a way to see where training needs are shared across a team.
Who it’s for
Advisors planning professional development, and administrators reviewing organization-wide learning needs.
The solution
The project brings client information, learning progress and recommendations into advisor and administrator views. An agent-based workflow connects client insights to skill gaps, then to a relevant learning path with an explanation.
02What we built
The details that
make it useful.
- Personal learning workspace
- The advisor view shows CPD progress, completed courses, next study actions and saved learning paths.
- Client-informed recommendations
- Client readiness and lost-case information inform suggested skills and relevant learning content.
- Reasons behind the recommendation
- The demo explains why a skill or course is relevant, rather than presenting a bare list of suggestions.
- Administrator visibility
- Organization charts and an AI-generated brief surface learning gaps and possible training actions.
03How it works
A clear path
through the system.
Understand clients
Read the available client information and needs.
Identify gaps
Connect those needs with the advisor’s current skills.
Recommend learning
Suggest relevant courses and explain their purpose.
Review priorities
Give administrators a broader view of the team’s learning needs.
04A closer look
Inside CPD System.

Learning with a reason
Advisor recommendations from the recorded hackathon demo. Records and scores shown are prototype data.

A wider view for administrators
Administrator charts show client interests and segmentation in the prototype.

From patterns to priorities
A generated administrator brief suggests training actions. These are demonstration outputs, not measured business results.
05Design & engineering
Thoughtful choices.
Practical value.
Different views for different decisions
Advisors need their next useful learning action. Administrators need patterns across the organization. Separate views keep both tasks focused.
An explainable recommendation chain
The recommendation workflow separates client insight, skill-gap analysis and course matching. Advisors can review why a course was suggested before deciding what to learn.
Information designed for action
The demo connects charts and analysis to suggested training priorities. It demonstrates how an internal dashboard can help a team interpret its information.
06Where it stands
What this work demonstrates.
A hackathon demonstration of an advisor learning journey and an administrator intelligence workspace, developed for Taylor’s ImagineHack.
This is a hackathon project. The materials do not establish commercial adoption or validated training outcomes.
